ROLE OF A BLOCK WATCH CAPTAIN and/or CO-CAPTAIN
The role of a Block Watch Captain/ Co-Captain is to be a contact and a source of information for your area. The bonus is you get to know your neighbors and what is happening in your area. Your level of involvement is completely up to you. Below are some basic guidelines on what a captain might do.
-
Communicate with your neighbors. Hand out our meeting flyers. Invite them to our monthly meetings and upcoming events.
-
Learn what your neighbors want to see from the Block Watch program. Teach them to report suspicious activity.
-
Block Watch signs to post in windows and on back walls in alleys.
